Miriah Renee
Born in Chicago and raised in Long Beach, California, Miriah’s journey to solo stardom is a testament to her authenticity and grit. From a young age, she knew that music was her calling, and she’s been on a mission ever since to share her voice with the world. She grew up immersed in a rich mix of influences—from the powerhouse vocals of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion to the smooth R&B sounds of Aaliyah and Anita Baker. Her musician father, instilled a love for music in her, and the creative energy in her family only fueled her passion.
But Miriah’s journey wasn’t always straightforward—she started out in country music, singing songs by Shania Twain and Celine Dion, before finding her true home in R&B. By the time she was a teenager, Miriah was already making moves in the music industry, signing to the girl group Her Story. Miriah got her first taste of success as the group started to make a name for themselves, doing high school tours and performing throughout southern California. Unfortunately, the early harmony they found didn’t last and the group eventually disbanded, leaving Miriah to figure out how to continue pursuing her dream of singing professionally.
Seeking a change in environment, Miriah relocated to Atlanta where she’d form the duo Riss & Ry, working alongside industry heavyweights like Brian Michael Cox and J. Que Smith. But even as she rose through the ranks, Miriah knew she was destined for something greater—a solo career where she could truly express her unique sound and vision.
After returning to her California roots and giving birth to her daughter Marley Rose, Miriah took a major step forward with the release of her independent project, 6/4 in 2022. The project, which reflects her growth both as an artist and a woman, marked a new chapter in Miriah’s career.Motherhood has also proved to be one of the biggest keys to Miriah’s success. Thanks in part to the popularity of a MarleyCON party she threw for one of her daughter’s birthdays, Miriah and her family launched a successful business producing music festivals and events that have featured popular artists like YG and Mozzy. As an independent artist, her business experience has only helped fuel her passion to succeed.
With her motivation at an all-time high, Miriah has found herself in a new space, prepared to make her mark on the musical landscape. Her latest single “Brand New” truly showcases the positive energy that’s been bubbling inside her.
“It’s very refreshing and fun,” she says, describing the track. “I had been singing about heartbreak and men all the time, and I wanted to make something that was just happy.”
The song features a reimagined sample from 3LW’s “No More,” and it’s clear that Miriah is at a place in her life where she’s fully embracing her growth. Miriah’s unique vocal tone—an unmistakable mix of soprano range that can effortlessly hit both high and low notes—sets her apart from the crowd. But it’s her entrepreneurial hustle, her authenticity, and her drive to tell her story that truly make her stand out in a crowded industry. With her eyes set firmly on the future, Miriah Renee is more than ready to show the world that she’s an inspiring woman who’s here to stay.
